The U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) survey on Jeep Grand Cherokee models that could take on fire, should a vehicle stampings from the rear, the investigation follows for two years.
The gas tank is made of plastic and was placed between the rear axle and the bumper. Today, the investigation of The U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration affects 5.1 million vehicles Jeep, since it has added two other models.
The affected models are:
- Jeep Grand Cherokee from model years 1993 to 2004
- Jeep Cherokee for the years 1993 to 2001
- Jeep Liberty for the years 2002 to 2007
So far, Jeep concerned would have caused the death of 15 people, in addition to injuring nearly fifty.
These Jeep versions are not subject to recalls, but there are chances that it will face such a possibility in the near future.
