BMW X 3 xDrive 28i: A new engine instead of six cylinder 258 horses power. BMW continues its policy of replacing engines. In the spring, it will be the BMW X3 and especially the xDrive 28i version which will have a new engine four cylinder TwinPower Turbo.
Goodbye the six cylinder of 258 horses, now place a new block TwinPower Turbo four-cylinder. The engine of the BMW X3 xDrive 28i will evolve next spring and correspond to the Bavarian manufacturer EfficientDynamics strategy.
Actually this new engine has a displacement of 2.0 l and develops a total 245 horse power and torque of 350 Nm. For performance, the BMW X3 xDrive 28i does 0 to 100 km/h in 6.7 seconds while the top speed is 210 km/h.
Slightly faster on the 0 to 100 km/h, this X 3 with this new engine is also less gourmand fuel. If for the six cylinder consumption was estimated at 9.0 l / 100 km, with the four-cylinder TwinPower Turbo, the BMW X3 xDrive 28i now displays a consumption of 7.5 l / 100 km.
If the consumption is declining, the rate of CO2 release is also. The Bavarian SUV emissions are now valued at 175 grams per kilometer.
If the six cylinder in-line for the BMW xDrive 28i disappears, it is still available on the xDrive 35i version. The new engine for the X 3 will be available next spring, just after the Geneva Motor Show March, 2012.
