Appeared at the SEMA Show as a concept, the Chevrolet Camaro 1LE finally arrives on the market for model year 2013, history of bridging the gap between the SS and the ZL1.
The Chevrolet Camaro 1LE option package on the SS. So we find the same V8 engine with 426 hp and 569 Nm.
What makes the difference is its chassis, supposed to have been optimized for output on circuit: power steering resumption of the ZL1, two-way exhaust, also present on the ZL1, anti-roll bars of large diameter (27 mm front and 28 rear), the monotube shocks, a strut bar between the chapels front tires Goodyear Eagle Supercar G2 285/30 ZR20 at the front and rear on new rims. A pneumatic mounts identical to that adopted before the ZL1. The set was designed for heavy use, including with respect to the bearings or the fuel pump.
Of course, with this approach runway, the Chevrolet Camaro 1LE is offered with a manual 6-speed Tremec TR6060-MM6 with a final report shorter than for the SS.
Stylistically, it is easily recognized with its matte black hood, its wheels close to that of the ZL1, and the lip at the bottom of the deflector shield and on the trunk. On board, the spirit of “track” results in a steering wheel and shift knob speed microfiber imitation suede.
