The new Honda Civic Tourer has everything to seduce the European with its 1.6 diesel engine and its original look. Finally, almost all in this market segment, a break version is very important. Honda knows well and presents a new concept in Geneva Motor Show 2013.
The Honda Civic Tourer Concept is officially still a prototype, but very close to a version of series. It will be presented at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September 2013.
Designers wanted insufflated to this break the sportsmanship of the version 5 doors. The black lateral stanchions and the roof give it a dynamic profile. A future success? You to judge. But the Honda Civic Tourer seems in any case more original than the last attempt of the brand in the segment of compact wagons (the Civic Aerodeck), also note an evolution of NSX Concept, presented in European premiere, and the new diesel 1.6 i-DTEC, developed the principle of Honda ‘Earth Dreams Technology’.
A few hours after the press conference on the Honda stand, photographers linger instead on the NSX concept, whose interior is now accessible. Unfortunately one of the Honda Civic Tourer Concept yet in the state model.
However, the lines of the future Civic wagon, which should be marketed in early 2014, are almost frozen. We find a style less tortured than the sedan, but always dynamic rear wings are marked door handles hidden.
The side window seems to form a single piece with the black door pillars. Massive fires and cutting side window, them, erase the importance of door-to-rear overhang which should generate a boot interesting.
Remains to remove the central tailpipes, larger wheels and signature specific light (that we find perhaps the future Honda Civic Type R) to know what the future will look like rival Mégane Estate. Appointment in Frankfurt in September, will be exposed when the final delivered.
In addition to its range, Honda will also present two attractions from the competition, namely the WTCC Civic that participates in the Championship of the world of passenger cars and a racing car in the LMP1 category which will give you an overview of the next 24 hours of le Mans.
After completing its last trials which focus on the tour of Aragon in Spain in February, Honda Racing Team JAS is ready and eagerly awaiting the kickoff of season 2013 of the Championship of world touring car of the FIA (World Touring Car Championship – WTCC). This Championship will begin in Italy on March 24 and ends in Macau on November 17 after a total of 24 races.
Honda will undertake this year in the WTCC two official cars for the Italian Gabriele Tarquini, World Champion of the cars in 2009, and the Portuguese Tiago Monteiro. To this end, Department R & D (research and development) Honda designed a 1.6-litre direct-injection turbo 4-cylinder. Developed specifically for the WTCC Civic, this thruster will have the support of manufacturer Mugen on the circuits.
His debut during the last three rounds of the 2012 World Championship, the WTCC Civic had already unveiled encouraging potential. Tiago Monteiro had indeed offered to the new Honda his first podium at Macau in November and the Civic WTCCs’ was illustrated by obtaining the second best time in the race in 2′ 31″ 44.
The Honda Racing Team JAS will also face the Hungarian private stable Zand Motorsport. It confirmed earlier this year that it would it also at the World Touring Car Championship of the FIA with a Honda Civic WTCC, which will be entrusted to the Hungarian driver Norbert Michelisz. J.A.S. Motorsport will build a Honda Civic WTCC, which will benefit from the same specifications as its own cars for this team.
