The New 2013 Toyota Avalon Hybrid presented at the New York Auto Show in April 2012, the new generation of the Toyota Avalon will also benefit from a hybrid powertrain. In its presentation at New York Auto Show, the Japanese automaker had not given all the details of the fourth generation of Avalon. Today we have therefore the right to new information including the engines which will be proposed to the Japanese sedan.
The announcement was made on Monday by the American subsidiary of the manufacturer. In addition to the gasoline version, Toyota Avalon can take advantage of the Hybrid Synergy Drive technology; It is a first in the segment of the intermediate luxury in Toyota sedans.
Toyota does not detract from its rule to try to propose a hybrid variation for its vehicles. This will be the case for the new Avalon. Based on the Camry platform, it logically takes the hybrid engine of the latter who is also present under the hood of Lexus ES 300H.
In the program there is not surprise, the gasoline engine is 2.5L four-cylinder boost 154 horses. The thermal block is associated with a small electric engine for a combined power of 200 horses.
As regards fuel consumption, the US environmental protection agency announced a consumption of 5.9L/100 km. For this hybrid version of the Toyota Avalon, three driving modes will be at the Rendez-vous: EV, Eco and Sport.
To avoid losing potential customers, Toyota also offers a fully thermal version of his vehicle with the presence of a V6 3.5L 268 horses which is coupled to a box six-speed automatic.
Only intended for the American market, the 2013 Avalon Hybrid will be marketed at the end of the year in the United States.
